Each calendar year Annual awards are presented to members based on their attendance and participation at Club events. The winners are determined from records of attendance at Club events so please ensure that you write your name in the attendance book at each of the following events Breakfast Runs, Know Your MG Meetings & Register Meetings, and an attendance book is kept at the Clubrooms for Monthly General Meetings, Social, Competition, Working Bees, and other Club events which may be held.
Club Member of the Year
Objective:
To recognise the member who participated in the most club events during a calendar year. The ‘Club Member of the Year’ is recognised by receiving a trophy at the AGM, and their name on the ‘Club Member of the Year’ honour board. Remember to sign the attendance book or sign-on sheet at meetings of events.

Eligibility:
All financial members of the MG Car Club of SA are eligible to win the award.
Eligible Events:
Nominated events that are in the club calendar and are marked with a notation that attendance at this event attracts a point towards club member of the year. Additional events can be considered, event coordinators to notify Secretary of those events. (typical events to be included see table below) NOTE: events that limit the numbers of attending will not be counted towards ‘Club Member of the Year’
Calculation of points:
one point for each eligible event attended towards Club member of the year. These events to have ‘*’ or notation that attending this event attracts a point towards club member of the year. Event co-ordinators to keep a record of members attending the event. These records to be forwarded to the Secretary for calculation of points by the end of Jan. See table below for typical events for Club Member of the Year.

This is presented through the T Register to the member who drives his/her T Register vehicle to the most Register Meetings & General Meetings and other nominated events throughout the year.

Awarded by the President, from nominations by the Committee - to Club Member for outstanding contribution to the Club throughout the year.
President's award for 2017 - Arthur Ruediger.
Points awarded as above, and the award presented to the lady obtaining the highest number of points. Originally introduced to encourage family participation in Motor sport.Club Motor Sport Champion for 2017 - Rob Hall.
Lady's Motorsport Club Champion for 2017 - Karen Stephenson.
Awarded to the highest placed Novice in motor sport.
Motor Sport Novice for 2017 - Nick Micklem.
Motor Sport Encourgaement award for 2017 - Tony Freckelton.
First awarded in 1981 to the most consistent individual performance by a South Australian at a MG National Meeting in a single car/ driver combination.
How the points for the Knox Trophy are awarded: 6 points for 1st in class, 5 points for 2nd in class, 4 points for 3rd in class, 3 points for 4th in class, 2 points for 5th in class, 1 point for 6th in class plus one extra point for outright winner of the event.
The above is adopted provided there is a minimum of 6 drivers in the class. Where less than 6 drivers, points will decrease accordingly eg. 4 in class 1st = 4 points. An outright winner of an event will score the maximum of 6 points +1 points regardless of the number in class.

History of the Trophy -

For Best overall performance at a MG National Meeting.
The Cup was once called the Mortlock Cup.
It was presented to the Port Lincoln Racing Club by the Mortlock family in the early 30’s.
The Cup was acquired by Tim Young in 1980 and presented to the MG Car Club, and is now known as the KNOX Trophy.
Not presented for 2017,
