Mid Week Lunch Run – February

On Thursday 13th February, 36 club members met at The Gully Public House for coffee & chat.

At 11.30am we departed for a run to The Cruising Yacht Club of SA at North Haven where another 9 members joined us for lunch. This venue was chosen because being Feb it could be very hot & possibility of bushfires in hills, this being a nice location by the water.

As it turned out it was a mild day of 28 deg. After leaving Tea Tree Gully we travelled over Range Road & through One Tree Hill down Main North Rd, Salisbury Highway & Port River Expressway bypassing the slow moving city traffic. The scenery over the hills was very dry.

We were welcomed by the Yacht Club even having an entry sign welcoming the MG Car Club. The set up for us in the Mariners Room overlooking the Marina was very nice & we were able to see a dolphin swimming around in the Marina.

There were varying comments regarding the meals & it was unfortunate they had no deserts available on the day. For our own health it may have been a blessing in disguise.

Next Mid Week Lunch Run will be on Thursday 12th March meeting at 10.30 am at the Reservoir Hotel, 20 Hamilton Ter, Newton departing 11.30 am for a 12.30 pm lunch at Lobethal Hotel.
