MID WEEK LUNCH RUN REPORT

When do you have an MG Day with no MG’s? The answer is a 40 degree day in the middle of January. This was the case for the first Lunch Run for 2020 when with the extreme weather forecast everyone sensibly came in their air conditioned plastics.

Because it was the first run for the year there was no planned morning tea or run. Lunch was at 12.30pm at the Highlander Hotel, Gilles Plains. We hadn’t been to this hotel for a MG lunch previously and it certainly did not disappoint. The menu was very extensive with the specials including a salad/vegi bar as well as dessert. All for $16. The air conditioning was wonderful with some people even moving because it was too cold.

First timers Bill & Kath Colclasure were made welcome and we look forward to seeing them again when the rubber hits the road. It was also good to see Rod & Jenny Byrne and Peter & Janet Lorimer returning after a few months.

Christmas has well and truly passed and we were reminded by June Terry that Easter is on the way when she kindly gave out a few chocolate Easter egg treats.

Thanks to everyone who came and supported the lunch. The Adelaide hills roads are so much fun in an MG so we have many exciting lunch runs planned for the rest of the year.

Next mid-week lunch run will be on 13 February 2020 to the Cruising Yacht Club of SA meeting at The Gully Public House, Tea Tree Gully at 10.30am and departing 11.30am. Everyone is welcome. Please book with GRAHAM LOADER if you would like to come so the venues can be advised of numbers attending.
