The Centenary Subcommittee has put together a varied calendar of events to celebrate MG’s Centenary Year. Here are the dates for your diary – details will be available closer to each one:
There may also be a Grand Finale event at the National Motor Museum, Birdwood, possibly in May.
Watch for details of all the above in MG Motoring, the website and Facebook.
Centenary display banners will be featured at all events and bumper stickers will be made available free of charge to all members.
The Subcommittee is also arranging a range of regalia and merchandise and an order form will be available shortly, keep an eye out for details.
We now have more than 50 Expressions of Interest from members willing to display their cars at this year’s Adelaide VAILO 500 event in Victoria Park in November.
The good news is, the organisers have increased the number of cars we can have on show to 60, so if you have not yet put your name down, please let me know. I need your name, phone number, email address, model of MG and its year – that’s all at this stage.
We expect to receive the detailed entry forms from VAILO in the first or second week of September – Berry or myself will send them to everyone who has registered and they are to be returned to Berry who will collate them and forward them all to the organisers. Deadline for this is early October, so when you get your form please fill it in and send to Berry ASAP to avoid disappointment. We’re assured that the entry form will contain all the details you need to know.
Cars are to be at Victoria Park on Wednesday 22nd November and can be removed on the evening of Sunday 26th or Monday morning 27th. Fine detail will be on the entry form.
Everyone registered will get two 4-day admission tickets which includes all events (yes, even the Robbie Williams concert on Sunday night) and two car passes – one for the display vehicle, one for your personal transport.
Our display will be adjacent to Gate One (Halifax Street) and our ‘personal vehicle’ carpark is carpark one, which is next to the display area. There is 24/7 security by both personnel and cameras.
If you have already registered, Berry or I will stay in touch with you via email.
Any questions, please email Berry, Arthur Ruediger, Jason Edwards or me.
